Per Humog 75 vial Highly purified menotrophin corresponding to 75 IU FSH & 75 IU LH. Per Humog 150 vial Highly purified menotrophin corresponding to 150 IU FSH & 150 IU LH
Indications/Uses
Women: Stimulates follicle development in amenorrheic patients. Induces multiple follicular development in patients undergoing assisted conception technique eg, IVF. Men: Stimulation of spermatogenesis in combination w/ HCG.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Anovulatory infertility 75-150 IU daily IM/SC, gradually adjusted if necessary until an adequate response is achieved, followed after 1 or 2 days by chorionic gonadotropin. Menstruating patients Start w/in the 1st 7 days of menstrual cycle. May be repeated at least twice or more if necessary. Alternatively, 3 equal doses, providing 225-375 IU, may be given on alternate days followed by chorionic gonadotropin 1 wk after the 1st dose.
Special Precautions
Slightly higher prevalence of congenital malformations. Personal or family history of thromboembolic events in women. Not to be given during pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Female: Local reaction at the inj site, fever & arthralgia in rare cases. Male: Gynecomastia in combined treatment w/ chorionic gonadotropin inj.
Drug Interactions
Enhanced follicular response w/ clomiphene citrate. GnRH agonist.
